Outdoorsy Trips
If you and your daughter are outdoor enthusiasts, why not book a trip to Maine’s Acadia National Park? Considered the crown jewel of the North Atlantic coast, this gem of a national park offers nearly endless recreation opportunities that you both will love.
If you’re closer to the West Coast, then a trip to the Grand Canyon in Arizona is sure to please any adventure loving family duo. You’re sure to make memories that will last a lifetime while exploring the great outdoors together.
Each outdoorsy trip offers miles of hiking trails and natural attractions where you and your mom can do some serious bonding.

Big City Trip
For a fun mother-daughter weekend getaway that can be reached by plane, train, bus, or automobile, head to conveniently located Philadelphia, Pennsylvania! Mother-daughter duos can take in the City of Brotherly Love’s cobblestone charm, run up some steps channeling their inner Rocky, and refuel with a delicious cheesesteak.
Be sure to snap a selfie at the Liberty Bell too!
Wellness Trips
Wellness and yoga retreats are becoming increasingly popular all around the world. Book a mother-daughter stay at Skyterra Wellness, a small health retreat in the beautiful Western North Carolina mountains where you can set aside life’s obligations and focus on your health and well-being.
If Arizona is more your style, head to the stunning red rocks of Sedona, where you will find several wellness options to choose from: holistic spiritual, healing, and yoga retreats that can address all aspects of Mind, Body and Spirit.
Beach Trip
There’s nothing like a good mother-daughter beach trip! If you’d like to take a once in a lifetime beach trip that you’ll never forget, head to Florida’s Gasparilla Island, a tranquil barrier island surrounded by snowy white beaches. Plan the perfect stay at the stately and stylish Gasparilla Inn and Club, which oozes Old Florida elegance and charm.
For daytime exploring, the island is home to Gasparilla Island State Park with warm Gulf of Mexico beaches perfect for swimming, snorkeling, fishing and sunbathing. During the winter months, shelling is very popular.

Wine Country Trip
If you and your mom are wine lovers, plan a trip to Napa Valley, California, the Finger Lakes region in New York, or Oregon’s Willamette Valley to visit some of the most beautiful vineyards in the country. You’ll both have a blast indulging in and learning about your favorite wines.
Road Trip
A classic road trip is the perfect mother-daughter getaway that requires very little planning. Just pick a destination, make a fun playlist, hop in the car, and start driving! Road tripping is one of my favorite getaway plans and probably one of the most affordable options too!
Spa Trip
For a getaway full of relaxation and fun, treat each other to a mother-daughter spa trip! This can be a great weekend trip or even a day trip for spending some quality time together.
A great one to try is Miraval Resort & Spa, a 400-acre destination situated in the warm shade of the Santa Catalina Mountains in northern Tucson, Arizona. You’ll be delighted with innovative spa treatments, workshops with health experts and daily activities such as yoga, hiking, horseback riding, and fitness classes.
Countryside Trip
If you and your mom want a break from routine, but not one that will leave either of you jet lagged on Monday morning, Boone, NC is just the ticket. There are endless things to do in this Western North Carolina town from fly-fishing, hiking, mountain and road biking, to ziplining, canoeing, and kayaking.
During summer months, go spelunking in Linville Caverns or sip your way along the Boone Area Wine Trail. Winter season brings skiing, snowboarding, snow tubing and even ice-skating surrounded by gorgeous mountain views. Factor in the walkable downtown area, and Boone is the perfect escape for a mother-daughter getaway.
Cruise Trips
For an easy mother-daughter trip that doesn’t require much planning, a cruise can be a great choice. Carnival Cruise Lines has budget-friendly options, especially in the off-season, with voyages departing from Los Angeles and several other ports along the Gulf of Mexico and East Coast.
If you’re a mom with a younger daughter, booking a Disney cruise for the two of you would be a special memory sure to last a lifetime. With several U.S. departure ports, nearly endless onboard activities and numerous meal options to please any age, a Disney cruise is a good option for families not on a tight budget.
Holiday Trips
What better way to celebrate the holidays than with a special mother-daughter trip? Christmas in New York is perfect if you love shopping, eating, and seeing holiday lights.
If the tropics get you and your mom excited, put Maui on your must-see list. Whether you’re nine years old or 90, you will surely appreciate the wonders of this island paradise. Treat mom like royalty with a stay in the luxurious Grand Wailea with on site pools, water and resort activities, and even an impressive spa to make your trip extra special.
Make Plans and Go!
Even though she would be happy with just hanging out with you at home more often, mothers (and daughters) can reconnect and learn so much more about each other on a special trip planned just for the two of you.
