Live Your Retro Road Trip Dreams
A vacation in the Maggie Valley, North Carolina mountains gives travelers an opportunity to enjoy a trip back in time.
With the recent ribbon cutting ceremony, the Route 19 Inn is now open and welcoming visitors to its completely refurbished and restored inn. The inn is a delightful 30 room motor lodge on U.S. Hwy. 19.
The inn is nestled among evergreens, shade-providing hardwood trees, and large rhododendron bushes along the banks of Fie Creek and Jonathan Creek on the far west side of town.
A great photo opportunity awaits just past the entrance where the inn’s classic car – a 1951 Kaiser, beckons visitors to pose next to its brightly painted exterior.
Hang out at the pool and gazebo area for a relaxing day in the North Carolina mountains.
Kids and adults alike can enjoy a leisurely game of shuffleboard, while the little ones play on original carousel horses from Ghost Town in the Sky theme park. Swings are also on site for the kiddos to play on.
I have to admit that I’m a little bit partial to the teepee. It looks like a great place for imaginative play.
Mountain Mike, a local award winning chain saw carver, created the impressive totem pole. Be sure to check out his shop at 491 Soco Road!
Another photo opportunity awaits you around the corner where visitors can sit on a vintage motorcycle placed in front of a wall mural that gives tribute to the nearby Tail of the Dragon at Deals Gap.
With 318 curves in 11 miles this route is known as America’s number one motorcycle and sports car road.
Bring your grilling skills and grill up some burgers and hotdogs in the creek-side pavilion or catch a trout from the stream during the day.
The rooms have all been meticulously refurbished with comfy beds and fresh linens, small refrigerators, microwave ovens and coffee makers.
Located in Maggie Valley, NC, the Route 19 Inn is ideally situated close to Great Smoky Mountains National Park where plentiful recreational opportunities await.
If road tripping is your style, the Blue Ridge Parkway is just minutes away.
For those wanting a day trip visit to Asheville, the Biltmore Estate and its world-famous gardens can be quickly reached via I-40 in less than an hour.
Maggie Valley, North Carolina offers a wide variety of unique and fun things to see and do, making it the perfect vacation destination for the whole family.
