  • Make a packing checklist

To start with, make a checklist of all the things you need to carry to your trip. From essentials to toiletries, include everything in the list. When you make a checklist, it becomes easier to sort things. In fact, you will not forget anything if you make a list.

The list is essential for longer trips as you can be sure of everything that you need to carry along with you. Simply pack your suitcase and check items from your list, your work will become easier.

  • Pack two tees for every bottom

If your trip is long, you need to be careful regarding the clothes you carry. Try to carry two tops or tees for every trouser or jean. You can save a lot of space with this. Also, roll your clothes rather than folding. This will make way for other things in your suitcase. Carry clothes that are easy to manage and are comfortable for your long trip.

  • Use a transparent bag for toiletries

Pack all your toiletries in a transparent bag. You will be able to use the things according to your need. You can keep this small bag in your suitcase for your easy access. You can also pack other essentialsin a separate bag and keep it along withyour clothes. With handy bags, you don’t need to dig out individual things, your task will become easier.

  • Put your chargers in a sunglass case

You heard that right. Your headphone wires can be all messy. And, your charger can easily be lost somewhere if you are not carrying a sling pouch. Put your headphones and chargers in a sunglass case and place it in your suitcase. You can easily access both the things without an issue. This can be perhaps the best outdoor gear for your traveling needs.

  • Pack your shoes with shower caps

You can use shower caps or transparent bags for your shoes. It’simportant to cover your footwear with caps if you are going ona long trip. Footwear can cause a stink and can damage your clothes. It’salways a good idea to use small bags to pack your footwear if your journey is too long.

  • Use drawstring bags or socks

For all the things breakable, you can use a drawstring bag or socks. You can put your perfumes in socks or string bag and place it in your suitcase. This will ensure that your perfume remains safe.

  • Use dryer sheets

You must use dryer sheets for your suitcase for longer trips. Use these sheets between your clothing items to avoid the smell. This will help keep your suitcase smelling fresh longer.

And of course, choose a smart, lightweight, sturdy and practical suitcase for your trip!

A tip my mom gave me if you are going sailing or traveling to rain forest area’s where your bags could get wet, pack each outfit in a zip lock bag and press all the air out to save space and this way your clothes wont get wet and your wet clothes at the end of the day wont smell up your bag.

    1. I tried this on my last trip and the shower caps worked perfectly! I used free caps I had collected from hotels we had stayed in.

    1. Excellent! As a mom of six(!), I often used similar tips, even waaayyyy back when my kiddos were little. I have grandchildren now. 🙂

  2. The dryer sheets are genius. I needed this post. Next month i’ll be going on a 2 week trip across the pond to London, Paris and Rome. I’ll be using all these tips!
